Wine Experience in Piedmont
Langhe Wine Region Tour including tasting of Barolo and Nebbiolo grape-based wines
Today pick up at your hotel and departure to Langhe Wine Region, a hilly area in Piedmont, midway between Turin and Genoa. This is a rural treasure trove of villages and agricultural landscapes. Langhe area produces wines of international quality and excellence, such as Barolo, Barbaresco, Asti Spumante and Barbera d’Asti. Here wine producers preserve winegrowing and winemaking traditions about the vines cultivated here for centuries: Nebbiolo, Moscato Bianco, Barbera.
Langhe Wine Region is the kingdom of Barolo, the king of wines and the wine of the kings. Our first stop will be at a small, family-run Barbaresco winery where you will try 3 different kinds of Nebbiolo grape-based wines. The tour continues with a stop in Alba, the capital city of the Langhe area. Alba is a medieval town world known for white truffles. Here we will walk in the narrow, medieval streets, visit roman ruins and should it be Saturday, a visit to the local farmers’ market is a must do. Lunch at leisure.
In the afternoon, we will focus on His Majesty Barolo wine, the king of wines and the wine of kings with a 3-Barolo wine tasting at a local winery’s terrace overlooking the castle of Barolo. Then, drive back to your hotel.
