Today you will visit two world renowned sites that belongs to the Unesco Heritage: Piazza Armerina and Valley of the Temples.
The amazing Roman Villa of Casale at Piazza Armerina was built on the 4th century AD, later forgotten and only in the 20th century excavations revealed the whole building. The Villa is the supreme example of a luxury Roman villa with about 3500 square meters of floor mosaics. It was probably the residence of a member of the upper class of the Roman Empire. The mosaics discovered here are celebrated among scholars of antiquity.
Driving approximately 2 hours we reach the Valley of the Temples of Agrigento. Walking in this archaeological site you will admire the Temple of Concordia, conspicuous for its nobility and integrity, and the Temple of Hera, the Temple of Hercules and the Temple of Zeus.
